Georgia Energy Justice Summer

The Energy Justice Summer (EJS) program is part of a growing grassroots environmental justice movement catalyzed by students and youth that seeks to engage, train, empower, and connect young people and community leaders, to promote and implement clean/just energy solutions, and to oppose the development of dirty and risky energy facilities in the South Eastern United States.

Like the rest of the nation, Georgia is facing an energy crisis. Two new coal plants have been proposed for GA in response to a 'projected future energy demand' (which does not take into account efficiency or renewable energies). Students, youth, and groups around the state have been organizing communities to put a stop to these dirty, global warming causing proposals, and Georgia Energy Justice Summer is an oppurtunity for YOU to get engaged and meet fantastic people who want to create a Clean and Just energy future for Georgia!!

This retreat will provide interested students the opportunity to gain leadership and community organizing skills. Come together with students from across the state at Georgia Energy Justice Summer (EJS) Camp to learn about the states deadly proposals and meet the community activists who are taking charge, learn how to empower communities to create positive change, all while staying at a beautiful oasis of sustainability in Middle Georgia.
