Southeast Climate Convergence
This summer, join people from throughout the southeast and beyond for the second annual Southeast Convergence for Climate Action. After the resounding success of last year's convergence we are excited to continue the struggle for climate justice in the southeast with an engaging week of workshops, strategizing, and direct action! This year's convergence will be hosted in Virginia where communities are fighting uranium mining, nuclear power, mountaintop removal coal mining, and new (as well as old) coal plants. Once again we will unite to fight the coal industry's stranglehold on our region while rejecting the deadly nuke industry's attempt to position themselves as the solution to the climate crisis.

Energy Justice Carolina
Youth from South Carolina, North Carolina and the whole of the southeast will be running listening projects this summer (from the end of May until the middle of August) in Jenkinsville, SC around the proposed expansion of the VC Summer Nuclear Power Station. Currently the station has one nuclear reactor, but Santee Cooper and South Carolina Electricity and Gas want to build two more. In addition to amazing trainings in the listening project model and profound first hand experience in community organizing, these summer projects hope to set the groundwork for a really dedicated, united, and terrifyingly powerful no coal, no nukes, no kidding campaign with youth leaders connected all throughout the southeast. The utilities are targeting our states for their so called "nuclear renaissance" and it is time for this generation to stand up and defend our futures by defeating all false solutions along with the fossil fuels empire! Everyone is invited to join our summer projects for whatever amount of time they can dedicate to being in Jenkinsville!
